Hi,
I have read numerous posts regarding the engineering marvel which the headlight wash wipe system is, however, I have a slightly odd fault which does not appear to have been covered before....
Firstly i have stripped, cleaned and refurbished the motor assemblies and bench tested them with all operations seemingly normal.
On refitting the motors to the car and subsequent testing, all still appeared normal, my celebrations were short lived however when i have discovered that the left hand motor runs every time you operate the "normal" windscreen wash function, irrespective of lights switch position.
With the lights on it really is a sight to behold with wipers slapping around and water spraying unlucky pedestrians, but it all functions as it should. The problem only exists with the L/H motor which wants to strut its stuff when all i really want is to remove some volcano ash from my windscreen!, maybe it's just the motor showing off after having not worked for 15 years or so!!
Would i be right in suspecting the control module mounted between the 2 tanks?
All advice gratefully received!
Many thanks,
Tony
