As my rotor arm and distributor cap have at least 48000 miles on them nad are visibly past there best although no running issues (yet) I thought replacing them was in order. BMW supplied me with a Bremi rotor arm (they no longer supply the Bosch part) and Euro supplied a Bremi dizzy cap. Both were fitted and it was not long before it started misfiring, through out the rev range.

I removed the Bremi rotor arm and fitted the old Bosch one with the the new Bremi distributor cap and and it misfired but not as bad as before. I then refitted the old Bosch distributor cap and the misfire went away. So the rotor arm and the cap both contribute to the misfire. Euro and BMW have refunded me.

As Eurocarparts and BMW cannot supply the geniune Bosch items any more where can I get the Bosch parts from. Do Bosch still make them? What are other peoples experience here? The car is a 525e with and 885 head but these two parts are shared with most E30's and most E28 including the M5 along with a bunch of other BMW's.
