I am running a m20 with LPG at the mo.
The airbox doesn't sit up its bracket as the cat flap has moved everything forward.
I'm thinking of swapping it for a K&N instead are they any good?

Nope
Fix the stock airbox / make sure it's sat correctly
Add a ITG panel filter , clean once a year, job done

All my LPG converted E30's have dual mounts for the airbox. I chop the bracket from a scrap shell, trim it right down to just the strip at the top, and weld it in place about an inch further forwards than the existing bracket. The U shaped bracket at the bottom (on M20's) is also extended forwards by a piece welded on.
