HI! MY VERY FIRST POST, GREAT WEBSITE I HAVE AN E30 325I 1987,DONE LOADS IN 12 YEARS IVE OWNED I,T AS YOU ARE PROBABLY AWARE THE ECU GIVES LOTS OF TROUBLE ON THIS MODEL,MY QUERY IS THIS, ARE THEIR COMPATIBLE PLUG N PLAY ECUS FOR THE 0261 200 073 FITTED TO THE CAR, AS AN EX MECHANIC I KNOW THAT IN MANY CASES THE IGNITION MAPPING CURVE MAY BE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT LIKE TOWARDS ECONOMY OR PERFORMANCE, I HAVE A REMAP CHIP IN MINE BUT OCCASSIONALY IT NEEDS A DUNT AS THE HYBRID SWITCH STICKS, :? The only thing that you can do, which will also make much better running and playablity.

Ditch the 1.1 and swap to 1.3 motronic off a later model. It's not the easiest job but it is well worth doing.

I also have the 073 model ecu.

Not wanting to hijack the thread....but whats involved in the swap, is it just a case of swapping the ecu or does it involve changing the loom and other parts?
