I have exactly the same problem with my car - drives me mad it does - my biggest dislike of the whole car in fact.

From what i gather from many previous threads on this subject, they're all like it to varying degrees. Some cars have very quiet injectors, like my other Touring, yet some are very noisy.

Some have experimented with injectors from different BMW cars, but the concensus has always been that this is a dangerous practice from the point that they can over-fuel, causing bore wash.

I'm just living with it for now until i can get a second set from a scappy and get them professionally cleaned/set-up in the hope they'll turn out quieter.

Are you SURE its your injectors making a noise, and not your valve clearances being wrong?

Injectors...! Making a noise ??? Never heard of it !

I've installed 440cc/min injectors (stock is 149cc/min) , brand new outta the box and they STILL tick like a black sabbath drummer!!

My only advise, turn the stereo up and forget about them, they all tick, tis part of the design.

No cures for this, although other type/models may have a better/more upto date design's, but the std ones all tick.

I could also be exhaust manifold, this makes a ticking noise.

To make sure, put a long screwdriver against the injector and the handle by your ear, then you will be able to tell exactly which ones are the loudest!

Be careful not to get sucked up by the fan though!
