hi, im currently lowering my e30 at long last:D done front two springs today and going to finish off rear springs tomorrow, have you a rough guide so i dont have to spend time working out how to do it and possibly taking things off i dont need to. thanks very much

If you've done the fronts, you should have no trouble with the rears!
Jack the car up at the back, take the wheels off, place a jack under a rear hub, undo the lower damper bolt, then let the hub drop right don on the jack. If you're lucky the springs will be only very lightly compressed now, and will pull out by hand. If they won't, jack the hub up a little again and either put your spring compressors on them, or even tie wire/rope/ cable ties around them. They only need to be compressed the slightest amount to get them out when you drop the jack again.
Your new, shorter springs should go in with no compressing.
Jack the hubs up and refit the damper bolts, but don't fully tighten them until the car is back on its wheels, on the ground.

thanks for that, yeah i thought id get fronts out the way first because i didnt know if id be able to get the strut off and be left with uprake suspension lol
