can anyone help, ive got a 1.8i and its been fine but now wont rev any higher than 3000 rpm. if i turn it off and back on it is fine again for about 30mins

this sounds like it could be fuel pump related maybe, something is getting warm and restricting either the fuel flow or the ecu, sorry cant be anymore help but this reply might bump you up a bit! :cool:

also could be a loose or dodgy tps throttle position sensor....

this is it,its on your throttle body,you can see in pic that its got slotted holes for adjustment,you need to be good with a multimeter to adjust it,check if yours is loose,if not its probably faulty,im sure theres loads of people on here that'll send you one for cheap,try whipsey

can you get a picture up?
it sounds like it could be the AFM (airflow meter) plug. in which case, it wouldn't run very well at all!

my first port of call would be to check all the inlet hoses for cracks / splits.

yes,there should be a plug connected to the tps,if this has come out it would cause problems...
