hey guys since i dropped the 2.5 into my touring the gauge has all ways sat just above the blue so took the thermostat out and turned out it was stuck closed it must of been on its way out as it was working when i fitted it so now im running it whitout one and the gauge is still heating up just above the blue..
any ideas on what could be the problem im also having a fuel problem witch i think has to do whit the heating think the choke is staying on as it thinks the engine is not at running temp.....

well m8 forgot to say that there was 2 holes drilled in the thermostat so that if it did ever fail that i would get notice...i took it out to see if it was only half open but turned out it was gone...

theres noting wrong whit running a m20 whit out one as my m8 that rebuilt his m20 has been running his whit out one for over 6 years and his yoke heats up to half every time even though it does take a we bit longer to heat...

the car would sit just above the blue if left sitting running but when drove it sits half way into the blue so the car thinks its cold all the time...

You might have as well put a 'stat in there, they're cheap enough.

hey guys i have found the cause of my over cooling problem..

after changing the blue and brown sensors and thermostat the car would heat to 1/4 while idle but when drove would drop into blue again so had a look at the fan and turns out the fan is stuck on all the time so once i get a new one i should have normal heat :D
