Bit of a strange one, wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction before I start stripping parts down!

Off the fob the car will open all doors, but will not lock them. There is a noise like a motor whirring, but nothing locks. This is the same if you manually press the lock down from the inside or turn the key on the outside, noise but no lock!

So Im having to lock the drivers door through the passenger side at the moment, then lock passengers followed by alarm, lol! Not fun!

Does this sound like a problem anyone has heard of? Ive already bought a central locking module from here but havent got around to fitting it yet. The onlly other thing I was thinking is the drivers door lock motor, but if it wasnt working why would it open the car?

Cheers, Andy :)

I have had a search and the only other common central locking thing I could see was the two red/black wires. Im guessing because mine is working/making noises it is not that at fault? :)

In a word, no!
Exactly the same wiring and motors are used to set the locks as are used to unlock them.
Even so, start with the red/black wire mod, as that should be done to all E30s, whether they have locking problems or not.
