The crude way is with a blow torch and burn the bugger out of there.
A good replacement for the track is a stiffer Powerflex jobby.
You can get the Powerflex diff bush from here: http://www.zonemotorsport.co.uk/store/s ... ex_e30.htm for £20 odd I think, cheapeast around and Paul is a legend

Sophisticated way is to use a hacksaw, feed the blade through the centre hole and cut it including the outer steel bush.
Polybush is dead easy to fit.
Z3M rubber bush is an alternate upgrade, but it will require a press to fit.

you`l be there all day using a hacksaw, the way i got mine out was to cut the rubber part out, then carefully nick the steel coller out with a small grinder then heat it up a bit with a torch and started nockin it in with an old screwdriver to get the steel to buckle in on its self then it just started to drop through. replaced it with a polybush which is a dodle to put on

what is the difference between the 325i diff bush and the z3 m? they both fit exactly the same? one is stronger?

I think thats right. The z3 is an upgrade but not as easy to fit as a 2 piece polybush.tim_haynes wrote:sorry guys just one quick question,

you have to be very careful with a vice as the back plate is only ali and it crack either rendering the backplate scrap!
A press to push the old and new ones is the proper way really.
ZM3 bush although is expensive is designed to keep 320bhp in check and is well up to the job

Diff bush in the freezer, backplate in the oven. Lay the backplate on a wide piece of flat wood, lay the bush in place, and tap it in SQUARE with another block of wood and a hammer.
