water in drivers footwell!

just stripping out the carpets and found really wet footwell. where should i check 1st? where is the most common place for water to leak from?

A couple of possibilities without more info. Have you got the carpets out yet?
Some of the more obvious that spring to mind...
rusty footwells originating at the jacking points
sunroof drain blocked
rear inner arches
heater matrix
ill fitting doors/seals knackered
