hi all

my windows on my 320i convertible only work when i open the door what do you think it could i am not good with electrics so pls be gentle could it be a switch that iam not seeing

Fuse in the engine bay box fella.

The widows will operte with the door's open as that is the comfort relay loom which is separate.
M30 Tech 1 Touring on gas.

As above: there are two fuses which deal with the windows - one in door open mode, and one in door closed. Both operated by the same switch, but different relays. Check all of your fuses, and if you find that you still cannot open your windows with the doors closed, get back to us and we'll give you some more help :D

Sadly I don't remember which fuse numbers they are, but the more time you spend checking this type of thing the better you'll get to know your car and the more you'll learn.

cheers lads checked the fuse number 17 it was blown it had a 30amp in it replaced and my windows are now working perfectly

thats very good it is working, but why did it blow in the first place would be my next and more serious question? 30 amps is a big fuse!!
