can bad cam wear be the cause of my car over fueling and back fireing? as i have changed every thing now and it still runs terrible. im thinking if its that worn the valves could be staying open to long hence the over fuel?? i the cam is badly worn and the followers are knocking im running out of ideas now guys :(
i have changed
fuel pump
fuel regulator
plugs
leads
crank senser
coil
ecu
and still no joy!!!

Cam wear would shorten the duration and lift of the valves, as it's the lump in the cam that opens the valve - less lump = less valve openage.

To check the CO get it into a garage with a tester. In fact, find a decent enough specialist and let them diagnose it for you..
