I've got to swap mine out over the weekend, any hints or tips? I'm doing the diff side flange seals whilst I'm at it since one seems to be leaking. Anything worth inpecting/changing whilst I'm in the area?

I would buy a pair of trailing arms from someone on here and get some new bearings pressed in. When I had mine done they need about 6 tons of pressure, a old a guy at a local machine shop did them for £10 a side. You can then change the arms and seals at your leisiure :D

easy :o , only need basic tool kit and some 1/2 inch threaded bar and some odd washers, use the old outer race as a spacer to pull the new bearing in. the hardest part of this job is getting the old outer race out of the arm, be careful with the new bearing once pressed in they done like being knocked about

we used a steering wheel pullerwith a 34mm socket over the bearing, worked well but have to admit i fukced one bearing before hand trying to knock it in with the hammer so cost me 2 bearings for one side.

Oh ok, so I take it it pull the old bearing with the bar and washer afair and then sort of use the old bearing as a cusion for pulling/pushing the new one into place?

Knocked hte old bearing out with a spacer and hammer, pressed the new one in with the steering wheel puller hooked around the back of the hub and a 34mm socket in front of the bearing.

Coolio, cheers guys, was worried for a bit there. Hopefully this won't be the pig that some people seem to have experienced.

+1 I did the same last week and it cost me $20 to pull and press the bearing in

total cost: 45 SKF Bearing, 20 Press, 2hrs removing and installing trailing arm

its much easier than sourcing the tools needed to do it the haynes way
