Don't have a clue how to fix it but there are loads of second had clocks on parts for sale £10 upwards and it could be a swap of the dial.

I assumed you have wired it up right!

Is it the same fuel gauge, that used to work properly, or have you fitted a different one?

Take out the rear seat base, remove the RH inspection cover, and pull off the plug to the level sender.
Does that send the gauge to zero?

How much fuel is actually in the tank? Does filling the tank make the gauge go to full?

Either you have the wrong fuel gauge for your tank (6 pot gauge with a 4 pot tank), or one of the senders, in a tank with two senders, is stuck in the full position.

Take out the rear seat base, and take off the two inspection covers.
Is there a level sender under each one?
Do you have an electrical test meter?
Do you know what a resistor is and/or do you have any?
