Please can anybody advise me best way to clear air lock on a 325i covertible 1988 cooling system. Tried valve on thremo housing. Tried removing header tank pipe(small) to bleed but no luck. Have read to take both top and bottom hose's off. Refit bottom hose, fill engine block through top hose untill visable then fill radiator, reconnect. Start up, heater on Hot+ blower on full set to 2000 rpm, take for a mile run come back release bleed screw on thermo housing and fill up up exspansion bottle....??

Many Thanks Humpo.

I've just done a coolant change and found raising the front of the car a help in releasing some more air.

Also check that you have water trickling out of the little hole just inside the coolant filler neck, if it's not the little tube will be block and cause constant air locks.
