I've got to replace the front two tyres on my 325 Cab. It's currently fitted with 205/55/15 all round, could I fit 50/15s to the front leaving the back with the 55s so it sits marginally lower at the front? Is it worth it and what would it do to the handling?

If this is a crap idea I'll just stick with the 55s all round

it wont effect the handling really it will save you a few quid becuase 50 profile tyres are more common and cheaper than 55's and 50's look better

Less sidewall flex, so slightly sharper steering but also a harsher ride. Personal preference...

Whether you prefer them or not, 205/55 r15 is the 'correct' (factory) size.

Alex, decided to go with your last comment as I'm a bit of an OEM fanatic. Driving without front tyres on the wear limiters makes such a difference. Decision was hastened by taking a corner a little too fast at the weekend and losing the front end as opposed to the back. 8O Hopefully I should be able to be a bit more adventurous and explore the handling a bit more now.

If your car has ABS, it may take exception to different sized tyres front and rear.
