What sort of noises do LSD's make when they are on their way out?

I've got a kinda cyclic-whiring noise coming from the back end, and I can't seem to get rid of it!! :x

I've changed the discs, calipers, h'brake shoes, bearings, backplates, prop and centre bearing.

Only really got Diff, G'box, H'brake cable to go!!! Or higher springs/shocks (40mm cabby springs & Koni adj's at the moment)

My faith is faltering!! :?

sorry to say but its defo your diff, change the oil asap, you might have a chance but probly would get worse as time goes on, the more s**t you give it, the quicker it will break, by the sound of it to me, its sounds to me like the very very begging of it breakin!!

Doesn't seem to make the noises in reverse!?!? :? (straight line)

Although it does make another 'churning' noise when I reverse whilst turning.

I really don't want to put the standard diff back on, cos if it isn't that, I doubt I'll have the patience to put the LSD back on!! :(

What oil are you using?

18months between oil-changes is a good bit in my oppinion... I'd try to change it every year.

It's probably just a bearing though, a diff shouldn't actually break unless it's being abused or poor maintenance.

If it's the bearings in the output shafts, it won't be too much of a problem.
The input bearing is a b!tch of a job alright though :(

Did you use LSD oil?

Used ATF in the Diff.

When I say 18 months, some of the time has been 'garage time'!!

Should be LSD specific oil, like castrol B373. Change it for LSD oil and see what happens.
