Moderator: martauto
hi guys,
recently my rpm and mpg has stopped working since i tugged a few wires under the steering column. so today i took the whole instrument cluster out and the red connector isnt there, meaning i cant find were it has gone. iv looked everywere behind the dash. can someone help me locate this cable as to were it might be or were i can trace it from.
thanks

it could be the SI board batterys, if its a VDO instrument cluster these are more prone to the batterys leaking, seems a coinsidence that they stopped when you were tugging wiresturbo87 wrote:done some browsing on the net and read that it could be the batteries can someone confirm with me that this could be the problem?

The batteries can be replaced, I've done several... Assuming of course that the batteries haven't leaked and corroded the PCB.
The batteries are AA style, but with lugs on the ends for soldering into the PCB, single pin on pos end, double pin on neg end.

Currently slumming it in an E46 Touring
Brian Moore gives the source of the batteries in this thread
