Hello
I am preping a E30 track car at present, I have recently bought a manual rack to swap with the power rack currently on the car. Yesterday went for a fit with new manual tie rod ends and it just doesnt fit as well as the power rack. The small end rubber boots on the pivot ball joints touche the brake disc backing plates and when car in the air they have to be pulled down to their maximum angle to post the locating pin into the front hub fixing hole. I apprecialte the car is not under load at this point but just doesnt seem right to me.
Just to clarify i have manual E30 rack and tie rod units BMW number 32111125186.
Are these the only parts i require for a swap of do i need manual steering front hubs etc.
Any help gratefully receieved.
Thanks
Manual steering rack fitment

Yup the tie rod jobbie between the rack and steering column is longer. The manual rack also mounts through different holes in the crossmember brackets. I think manual is front two and power rack uses the two towards the back, but may have got that back to front. Just bolt it through whichever holes the power rack wasn't bolted through.
