i have a problem and need advise,
i recently changed the head gasket on mine and when i put it back together
it really struggles to start and when it does it stuggles even more to rev,
i checked everything but its got me stumped,
ant sugestions?
and i fogot tp mention it idols ok when it eventually starts

Maybe a coincidence but maybe the TPS has packed up? I recently experianced similar symptoms to a 318is I look after for someone. Idled fine, but wouldnt rev. TPS has a potentiometer inside for throttle position, that failed. Have you got the fuel pipes on the right way round?

i timed it up and checked it bout 6 times, wheres the TPS and how do you check it.
and the fuel pipes aron the right way, i checked.
its starting to get me down now, next stop scrappy if i cant sort it.

dizzy on an IS? behave! still worth checking the exhaust cam sprocket is on correctly as the cam sensor comes off this. Cam timing definitely bang on?

sounds like the timing could be retarded on inlet cam

they are also labeled on the cams.. A and E I think E is inlet and A is exhaust..
