bit of background, done a 2.8 conversion (i.e changed the crank etc) got it started last week to find that oil/water mixing (dodgy head) so I whipped the head off and replaced it, but now it won't start
the engine is turning over so it's not the starter, there is a spark from the plugs and there is definatly fuel going to it as the plugs get soaked after several attempts to start.
I can't under stand what it could be as it just won't fire up, even though it did last week with the other head. Iv checked everything is in place, is it possible the inlet might be dampfrom the weather, il try some easy start tonight. cause it seems like thats the only thing that could be mnissing from the equasion
Not starting

I know it doesn't fit in with the wet plugs, but are you sure the fuel flow and return pipes are the right way around?
Plug leads on correct plugs?
Plug leads on correct plugs?
yep the fuel flow is the bottom straight into the injector rail, and the other is return pipe is the one with the regulator on it. its very strange, as it sounds like it wants to start. checked all the plug leads to and they are all number up correctly. could the crankcase sensor be at fault possibly

If it has fuel and a spark my guess would be the firing order assuming it has compresion?

Rotor arm is bolted to the front of the cam, and fits one way only, so you can't time a M20 180 degrees out like some engines.325icab wrote:well the leads are in the correct place, would this mean the rotor arm, distributer could be at fault somewhere?
If you get a good healthy spark on any particular plug once every two turns of the crankshaft, then I doubt if there is anything wrong with the CPS.
Compression, fuel and a spark at something like the right time, then the engine runs! If it doesn't then one of these is missing!
