Finally got the car insured and on the road this morning and while the wipers work as they should on all settings they seem to be working really slowly. If you envisage the fastest wipe being about acceptable for light rain that's about it. I've seen a couple of posts which mention the motor getting covered in crud and needing greasing - would that do it?

its something to do with grease getting on the contacts, as said above there is a wiki article about it or i can use search button and get the old articles back winkeye
