hello people, just read the oil threads, just really says how oil is produced etc etc! just need to know what grade of oil people use for the diff and Gearbox in a 318is (track car) as mine is due a change.

In terms of the diff, it depends if it's an LSD or not. For an LSD use Castrol SAF-XJ, for an open diff, normal EP90 gear oil should be fine.
Dunno about the gearbox, check out the BMW owners manual, it'll tell you in there. If you havent got it I'll dig mine out later and have a look.
