Hi all.

I've decided to have a crack at fitting the Tech 1 spoiler I brought a few months back. At the moment I have a Tech 2 spoiler fitted but on inspection my bootlid does not seem to have the six small holes drilled in it, my current spoiler seems to be just clamped at the ends :? .

So it's now looking like I'm going to have to take a drill to my bootlid, anyone got any tips so I don't create a horrible mess?

Dan.

You sure it's not bolted through? Open up the boot and on the underside look up where the lock mechanism is, you should see a few white plastic nuts that secure the spoiler in place.

Nope definately no holes across the bootlid, I can even lift the little lip spoiler slightly and see underneath it.
The only attachment points, it seems, are these crappy bolts on the side.

It doesn't look like it's ever been drilled either, no signs of any filler ot the like.

Wrong mate, look inside the bottom edge along the spoiler for the bolts, that pic only shows the edges not the inside. If still no joy it might be stuck down with double sided sticky.

The picture was just to show where it was attached, the underside of the bootlid is smooth, but I'll find out for definate when I remove it. What I wanted to know, was if anyone had any good methods of going about marking the holes for the studs on the spoiler, 8O as I'll only have one chance

Way i did it was to put some masking tape on the bootlid, place the spoiler on on central and mark it out.Its not really hard, but i know you want to be careful, just make sure you put some rust prevention on the holes after you've drilled the holes.Good luck.
