HELLO . . newbie here , ive recently bought a mint 325i sport ( which i thought it was ) and got it checked over the weekend , problem is shes leaking oil in the engine at the front drivers side . wondering anyone have this problem and would it an arm and leg to fix , my mechanic reconned

check the pipes going from the oil filter housing to the oil cooler. you'll see them leave the engine and head for the front of the car. from what i have gathered oil leaks seem to be a problem with these cars...

Very common leak here, as mentioned, where the oil filter housing is situated, o-ring has probably perished or gone brittle, there's a repair kit available from the dealers, easy job to do too!

hi there, i got a 320, and it was pissing oil, the cam shaft seal and o'ring were leaking and running down the r/h side of the block, almost to the firewall. Got to take the camshaft pulley off though, steam cleam it and take it for a spin.
