help please auto no drive!!!!!!

hi guys ..............
i have an 88 325 auto , was driving home and lost all drive!!!
the car will still go into reverse gear but nothing forward!
spoke to a few people today and have done the following.......
made sure atf fluid is topped up and is not black , changed the ecu but i have the same problem!
any one?

it will be either valve body, clutch packs or the governor.

Either way, by the time anyone who knows what they are doing has had a look at it, it will prob be cheaper to put a secondhand one in

working at gsf now mate !
only had the car a week! was running sweet then this happend!
GUTTED!
been told the car has gone into limp mode and the ecu should solve it! but has'nt!

as e30beemerland has said doing anything to an auto box will cost a big amount of money cheaper to find and fit a secondhand box or maybe its time to convert to a manual g/box
