once i got the 320 back to mine, noticed the fan belt had come off. replaced it and now the alternator doesn't seem to be charging the battery. the battery warning light is not on on the dash, but could this still be the alternator fubar? the cars been standing for about a year with a dead battery so possibly could be battery 2? any ideas?

cheers

With the engine running, you should be getting in the region of 13.8 Volts at the battery.

Have you pulled the caps off and checked to see if there's still acid covering all 6 cells?

If one cell is low then it's probably fooked

Have you tried trickle charging the battery for a day, then fitting it,to see how long it takes to discharge.

Another option would be to go down to your local garage and ask them to check the battery for you

You'll be very lucky if you can bring a battery that's been discharged for two years back to any kind of useful life.
