The pipes carry water to heat the throttle body,so nothing can be 'sucked in' by removing them.We go to a lot of effort these days to get cold air intoour engines,so why heat the throttle body?Ibought a length of suitable diameter tube frommylocal motor factor for a few pence and ranit direct from the thermostat housing to the rear of the block, this way you also eliminate two joins that could give you a potential mystery water leak.. heated manifolds were used when carberetters were in use, mainly to prevent fuel/air seperation after the carb.,these days fuel is injected direct into the valve throat and cold air is denser than warm, therefore you can get more air into the engine.siddiqi1 wrote:do you need to cap of the ends where the pipes would go in; as would this not suck air in; or can you leave them bare
