carpet out anything i could do while its out?

Just took out my carpet to steam clean it. Found a small rust hole so getting that welded but is there anything else you would recommend i do while the carpet is out?

Hunt very carefully for more holes! The slightest pitting or discoloration in the panels is likely to be a rust hole.
If you see any suspects, then prod at them hard with a small screwdriver. These holes rarely improve with time, and this is a good opportunity to sort them.

have a new carpet!!! Wet vacuumed the old one and it came up like a brand new one. winkeye

As long as the driver's side has been used with a mat, they usually do, however much they've been abused in the past.

yeah brian looks like it has always had a mat in it. What would you suggest for cleaning the rubber heel plate section?
