My cabriolet passenger seat mechanism to make the back go forward so people can sit in the back doesnt work. It seems as if its jammed or something has snapped not allowing it to go forward. Does anyone know what the problem would be and where can i go to get it fixed (including prices).

So does the clasp not raise up and down?
Have you tried taking the seat out to see if it's jammed up with gunk?

sounds like a snapped cable...take the seat out and remove the rear panel on the seat and have a look inside. Think it's just 2 screws at the bottom of the seat to remove the rear panel.

aceraf, i unscrewed the two screws but i couldnt take the back cover off, so I just took the whole seat out and took the two side covers off the mechanism. The cable has somehow come out of the pin it is attached to, so ive just ordered 2 new cables from bmw (£3 each).
I now need to know how to take the levers off without breaking them.

you know when you took off the back cover of the seat; where did the cable connect to at the bottom of the seat so that it allows for the seat to flip forwards?
could you please take a pic; i want to convert my 4 door seats into coupe ones; if i can see the mech and how it connects then i may be able to fit it myself!!!
