Hi all

If the tank leaks above 1/2 full only, where is it likely to be failing?

Its a replacement tank from GSF approx 5yrs old fro a 63ltr 325i.

thanks

Depending on where it's leaking, check out the O ring seals for the fuel pump and level sender, the hose between the tank and filler pipe, and the filler pipe itself.
If the replacement tank was fitted without being painted first, then it may well have rusted again, especially at the filler stub, if the hose clip wasn't positioned right at the end of the hose.

thanks for those pointers Brian, it wasnt repainted b4 it went on. Next time i'm passsing my local bush tyres i'll see if i can get it up on their ramps they are usually very helpful, (full of people wanting to take it off my hands, but no money mentioned) to try & look at these areas.

Thanks Ian

You can check out the two O rings by looking under the inspection covers under the rear seat cushion.
