I have just ordered rear brake pads and discs for my 318i Lux convertible (K reg). I am not much of a mechanic but decided I would fit them myself using my e30 manual CD but when I went to the rear calipers to remove them....they are not the same as my book....the front ones are..but not the rear....
As a later model i.e 1993, does this mean they are from different model??
Any ideas please,

Lee

all E30 have the same style rear disk brakes. proceedure for changing them is same as the front i.e remove the caliper, remove the clips, remove the old pads, stick the new pads in and replace caliper.

if the thing will not go over the disk then open the brake reservoir cap, wrap a cloth round it to mop up any spilt fluid, then useing a large screwdriver wrapped in cloth prise the pads a bit further apart enough to get them over the disk. replace the thing, replace the reservoir lid and off you go.
