Can anyone help please?

My car is making wierd noises at the front right after going a bit fast around a corner. The disk brake and attached hub now wobbles about 2mm in either direction rubbing on the caliper. There is a broken off allen key in the hole so i cant dig any deeper. Is this a broken wheel bearing? or does it just need tightening ( may be a bit optomistic! )

Would i need to replace the entire hub if it is a wheel bearing issue?

How do i drill out the old allen key?

and finally any ideas on what i should expect to pay for a hub?

Cheers guys

1. Yes
2. remove the disc and hub together and attack the rear of it with a grinder. (there are other options for this one)
3. Ԛ£46.71 from ECP

What size is the hub bolt? Does the cap just pop off with a screw driver? What / Where is ECP?

...There is the remains of an allen key that broke off in the hole from the previous owners. At least i think its an allen key.

Thanks for the help.

I think your describing the lower left small hole in the pic below, yes?

that just secures the disc to the bearing. not important.

They are easy to replace.

Good luck.

Oh GOD NO!

If it was already fitted to a car, don't expect it to last very long!
Note: Removing the front hub/bearing assembly renders it unfit for re-use. A new assembly will be required for refitting.
And they all come with the ABS bit now anyway.

Its to late now,but I agree with Smithy, second hand bearings aren't worth messing about with,I learn't the hard way!
Besides a new bearing I recently fitted cost me Ԛ£46,inc the hub.
