has anyone here removed their sunroof runners before? if so they will have found grey putty stuff underneath them.
does anyone know what it is and where i will be able to buy it?

It's just a water sealant, and is perfectly reusable.
No idea what it's called or where to get it from, because I've always reused it, but the same stuff is supplied in strips with some hobs and sinks for the kitchen.

I searched long and hard to find some of that. I eventually used some stuff made by 3M. Could try Plumbers Mait, comes in small tubs and is usually used for bedding in bathroom fittings and waste pipes so is water proof and stays soft like putty. Usually cheap as well.
