its not possible the rear will always look wrong.
Would the parts not be equal in price to an M3 shell? You could get a fully prepped for paint, Group A spec shell with running gear and roll cage for £4.5k according to another thread.

The conversion you are talking about is basically disassembling the original body panels and putting the M3 ones on, the rear window will always look wrong and IMO for not much more £Â£ you could buy an M3 shell with the extra value (and saleability) and rareness that follows.

The only body panels on the M3 that are exactly the same/interchangeable with other E30s are the bonnet and the sunroof panel...
All other ones are wholly or subtly different.
To recreate an M3 shell, you'll need to alter the rear window angle which entails modifying the roof panel...Bothe front and rear M3 screens are bonded, so you'll need to alter the window sealing panels...
The list is endless...
You could, I reckon, do it, but why not just look for a doggy M3 and restore it?

I agree with "Fusion_Julz" you may aswell get a tired m3 and restore.
You'll certainly get more respect for it from everyone as oppose to some people, and if the time comes or you need to sell it in the future its going to be easier to sell and sell for a higher value as oppose to the m3 replica.
Still its your choice man..............

i have to agree with the statements, im now in the middle of the road. if i cant sell my parts probably just continue with the projects. so from now on i need to gather as much info as i can
ive seen this done and it looks so wrong.. i even remember seeing one done to a facelift shell still with the newer lights in it!!!! why is all i can ask
I wouldn't mind just using the wings and stuff for a track car with 5 stud stuff off a Z3. Wouldn't be trying to make an M3 replica mind.
There's just no point since it'll never be perfect and will probably wiegh twice as much with all the filler that would be needed to give it a smooth finish

The rear quaters would be a nightmare to make, I'd imagine if it was a 5 door touringNelly wrote:Do it to a Tourer and you'll get away with an indivdual look - it's been done a couple of time already and looks cool imo.
Be pretty cool alright though...
Another way of putting those body parts to good use would be to use them on a Cab. Then, you'd have an M3 rep with none of that dodgy rear screen and C-pillar fabrication to worry about
Wonder if the M3 rear spoiler alone would fit on a normal boot lid? Be nice for a track car weapon
