my central locking relay burnt out last week
i went about to order a new one at my local bmw dealer. once givivng the guy the part no. he then went and looked it up on etk and told me it would cost...┚¬190 euro

Central locking ECUs don't normally 'burn out' without reason. Unless you want the new one to quickly follow the old one, I'd find out why it died first!
Definitely no reason to buy a new one. A second hand one that has never been flooded is every bit as good as a new one.
