E30 on summer tyres in December no PAS or ABS, been there done that, more times than I like to remember, thankfully me and the car always lived to tell the tale. E36 could bite too, especially with an S50B32 up front.
Like he said it's not an E46
It is only metal and it will go back but gutting nonetheless

Ouch! What a bummer after all that hard work. Looks like he hit a tree quite hard to do that much damage.
I still get a stiff neck after aquaplaning my 325i Sport at 70 mph into a central reservation crash barrier, one very wet February c.2009; the LSD locked up when I hit a lake of mud and ice draining off a field.
The only consolation was, that it was a rather rusty Sport, and in the same week, a Fiat 500 was rolled into a field near where I went off!

It's a good reminder of the limitations of these older cars. I'm careful when I'm out in my E30, but mostly because I'm worried about other drivers. I tend to assume that my 320i is so slow it'd be hard to do anything too stupid. However, if he can crash a 320i, I definitely can!
