Hi
I plan to at some point get my 1982 316 coupe (once i have the body work sorted) engine swapped for a m54b30. I have already purchased the donor car (2003 e46 330ci)
I need a tuner who can do the swap for me as this is simply something I cannot do. Anyone in the southeast of England?
If you know of any or if you are a garage who has done this swap and know exactly how to do it, please get in touch.
Many thanks
M54B30 swap garage needed

There is a pretty good write up here, just beware some of it is Left Hand |Drive specific but predominantly most of the info is there.

given the way E30's prices are heading and the costs of such a conversion (especially if you having a garage do it all) it make more sense to buy a modern powerful daily and do an oem resto of your 316- chrome models are quite sort after.
just my 2 cents,
just my 2 cents,
E30 320i Convertible (1989)
190 Mercedes (1988)

In the South East I would only recommend BMR, but be warned they only do things one way and the cost of that may be more than you expect. If you want to venture further up north then DanThe on here does a lot of conversions but works the same way.
There may be places that will do it cheaper but a badly done conversion is common, no fun to own or use and as said above will do nothing for the value of the car.
The value of the car will not increase by what you spend on it doing a swap and it may even be worth less than as an original 316. If you are happy with that then at least you have thought about it.
M54B30 is not as easy a swap as an M50/52 and many will say there is not as much that can be done with them.
I am only considering the swap as I already have a 330i that I know and have owned for a while, but I am aware that it will be lumped in with all the other half-baked, half-done conversions that are out there should I ever decide to sell it.

Also worth mentioning BMP Conversations as a third option.
