Hi all, sorry if I’ve posted this in the wrong place but I thought the restorations thread would be the best place to ask.
After inspecting the whole underneath of my car it looks as so the under seal the previous owner had done is pealing off and rusting parts of the body. I’m ready to start stripping it back to bare metal to look for any repairs that need doing and to re under seal the whole underneath.
Can help recommend any products to use that are easy to apply and work with that leaves a great finish and good protection (No air compressor)
Thanks
Advice needed - underbody restoration!

Hi, I can offer advise with removing the underseal and primer as that's as far as i've got!

To achieve this I have used a multi-tool with a scraper blade insert, then a wire wheel to remove the excess until back to completely bare metal.

Any small rust bubbles have been coated overnight with Dinitrol Converust (brush on application): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233363463170

Removed the rust convertor to inspect the result, then giving two coats of Mipa EP 2K Primer (brush on application): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174306755267

I plan on using UPOL Grey Stripe Seam Sealer (brush on application): https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/203831305177 ... SwKpBiBOe5
Then for the underseal, I will be using a spray type which requires a compressor so I cannot help any further! https://cechem.co.uk/seam-and-spray-sea ... &order=ASC
I am recording all this for my youtube channel, which may help you!

I used Dinitrol RC900 which is an epoxy primer and rust converter in 1, very happy with it. It comes in an aerosol, its quite expensive (~£33 a can) but you can do the whole bottom of the car with approx 3 - 4 cans, much less if you are only doing patches. Info in my build thread.Tricksmith7 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 27, 2022 9:03 pmHi all, sorry if I’ve posted this in the wrong place but I thought the restorations thread would be the best place to ask.

To be honest if you want to do a good job with re-undersealing then you need a small air compressor to use the gun. You could pick up a mini compressor, always handy to have one for future too,
Thanks
