Had a text from a broker this morning who said he wanted better quality photos as the underwriters said it was "just an old car not a "classic", jez! How old do you have to be?.

All comments by me should be taken in the right sprite, Jack Daniels is fine.

Under the UK law, a classic car is a so called "historic" vehicle. A car becomes a historic vehicle once it's 40 years old and exempt from tax and MOT. More information here:
https://www.gov.uk/historic-vehicles
There's also a second classification, "classic" vehicle which I'm not sure if is still applicable under HMRC rules, where a car would be deemed "classic" if it was at least 15 years old, valued at least 15,000 and the value is greater than its list price.
When this happens, you pay a flat rate of tax based on engine size and not the size and emission.

30 years old for vintage status here in Ireland - not sure that's of much help. If there's no similar categorization in Spain you might be facing an uphill battle.

It is 30 years in most European countries including Span where it is 'historic' but no 'classic', of course UK isn't European any more.

Yes it is. They didn't dig up the country and move it to Asia.
