Hi all
Well after 10 or so years and several BMW’s/911’s I’m back in an E30.
Just picked up this one owner 318i LUX. It’s been stored for the past 5 years so needs some welding and basic recommissioning.
It’ll be a slow burner but thought this the best place to document it’s return to the road!

Not much to report, stuck it in the garage for now. Did manage to find a set of 15’s with centre caps though!

Thanks mate.
It’s been off the road for 5 years so I’m going to get a mid rise lift in the garage, take off all the brakes/suspension etc and set about refurbishing and replacing bits. Interior needs to come out to address some minor welding repairs to the front floor

Got bored waiting for the lift to arrive so I started the obligatory black and silver rocker cover..

Decent bit of weather today so rolled it out the garage and stripped the interior. Get it over to work next week and hopefully make a start on the welding.
Inner rear quarters are beyond my skill set so I’ll be enlisting a body shop there

Long time no see Jay! Hope you and the family are good. I never thought i'd see you back in an E30. I'm currently trying to go through all my spares if there's anything you particularly need?

Hello mate, all good thank you. You ok? I’ve wanted one for ages so now the kids are here and the fast stuff has gone it made sense. I’m after any performance parts, if there is such a thing with a 318i lol. Anything you think might be of interest, give us a shout

I feel your pain, cutting the exact same rot out of mine and finally sourced a rot free valance + wings after 6 months searching.

I’ve been following your build, fair play for tackling that at home! I’m fortunate enough to have a workshop and donor car at my disposal. Still taking forever.

I’m hoping to get on to the front floors and scuttle next weekend then on to the engine and running gear swap before Christmas. Nice to have a usable E30 for next spring!

Yes we are reading and your doing a great job.
I have the same car - model - colour - age etc. My interior vinyl is silver not black but otherwise look identical.
Collected on a trailer but it turned out to be in much better condition than I expected - how often does that happen?
Fortunately for me mine didn't need a major resto - just a bit of TLC and so If you need any pictures of any parts or areas for reference I am happy to try and help.
Keep up the good work!

Ocde30 mate yours looks exceptional! That’s exactly what I’m aiming for in the long run!
Appreciate the offer and may take you up on that, thank you.
