Looking awesome Simone. Always a good read when there is an update.

I have started designing the "fast and furious" graphics you asked for, You did want a stylized picture of Demlot riding a giant pink dildo splattered doen the side of the car didn't you?

My sympathies having to contend with any wiring at all, I hate the stuff.

Whilst everthing is still pretty accessible, have you given thought to perhaps swapping the brake pushrod bar for a rufty tufty E34 item? Or are you going to be a true OEM homo? :)

Alpina, love it, they are nice, theres some dirty examples out there though. Avus blue C2 2.7 convertible here.

12K back in the day is what it cost me, absolute beast, slughters AMG's, VW's, AUDIs and the new Beamers. Alpina and E30 are the real Bavarian BEASTS.

How do I post pics, I need to show it on here, it's hard to post pics on here, some img message comes up, much appreciated if anyone can help quickly, wanna unleash the beast to you guys.

i reckon si has fallen into the "having too much fun in a working car" trap judging by the daft look on his face on sunday.

Well it's a solid old touring and it's responded to all the TLC very well!

I'm at alot of stages where it's think before you fit, and i haven't done alot of it before and it's off putting sometimes. You'd need to be in the mood for it i've learnt so far and said to people otherwise i don't do it properly and thats just a waste of time i think.

Particulary with the electrics as it's really not my strong point. I can plug and play stuff like cruise control, heated seats no problem. It's when it doesn't work afterwards i struggle!

that makes sense buddy, if youre not in the right frame of mind you`ll just do something you wont be pleased with later and either have to live with it :( (not likely) or do it all over again.

not really critisising you for enjoying the touring, thought of trying to get you to sell it me when youre done :D

When you have another working car, or a couple its hard to nuckle down and get one that isn't finished worked on. Because after a hard days grafting you can't go give it a spanking up the road. :(

It'll be worth it all in the end. I understand your pain with wiring. Very sad job.

You're absolutely spot on Si. You need to be "in the zone" to progress sometimes. Plus things that are unfamiliar can cause a stall mentally as well. Take your time. You are doing the right thing. I walked away from a project for 7 years once. Had enough, covered it all up, got married, did a house up, produced a daughter before I ever saw the project again. I dragged it out, kick started my enthusiasm and it was finished in a couple of months and winning best in shows!

Simon, here is my beast, originally Alpine white. Got any further on the asking price from WLN?

Hey guys, how do you like my alpina? Si got a badass c2, the black colour suits it really well.

Simon how much is it costing you to strip and get get rid of the rust in total approximately?

I can post more pics if people are interested!!!
These 2.7 beamers are the best for driving around in the summer with the hood down with a good bassline song. All wrapped up warm in the winter in the garage though! :P :P :P

Si, what's the best thing you reccomend to remove rust, cutting and welding new metal yes?

Been out and attacked it tonight, just gay things and lots of staring and thinking. I've a little book now so i've been writing down jobs to do, what i'd like to buy etc. So when i wheel it out i don't stare at it and think what shall i do like in the past! Even though there is lots to do it all needs to be broken down and it's the thinking 10 stages ahead which does your head in. Only because of all the money still to spend. Luckily lots to do without spending it at the moment. So nothing is fitted too early and hinders fitting something else later on!

Anyone got a RHD cruise control they'd like to sell?!

I've had a flash of genuis aswell with some car loom antics involving electric window looms. I'll get the camera out when it's done. It will be a big thing off my mind

Right had a blinding day today in the sunshine!

Now i've been having sleepless nights about how best to get the factory e/w loom retro fitted so today i took the bull by the horns and had a go how i thought best!

Image

Here is a large section of the front of the car loom, which i took out of barrys breaker last week

Image

After alot of thought and comparing it seemed identical to the one on the car bar the e/w part.
So to join it into the car i had to solder it in 3 places or about 11 wires in total

Image
Image

Soldering is not my strong point so this all took me a while!

Image
Here is one of the sections i joined into, looks pretty discreet too!

Image
Which leads me onto this, a door!

Now i've put in the door loom, door lock plus i've fitted the regulator. Now can anyone tell me does it look right, theres has been some educated guess work going on. Really i need to take the door card off a 2dr and have a proper look

One of the next jobs will be getting the loom powered up to see if what i have done works! lol

Image
exhaust heatsheild on, now i'm slowly cleaning up underneath and painting it this colour, bit gay but i've started so.......

Image

ABS, clutch pipes close to where they should be and cleaned up. One of the few things i've re using! So taking shape in the engine bay slowly also

Image

Sticking this piece of soundeadening up has been giving me nightmares also on a small scale, but it's up there. This bit of foam is NLA also so good job i didn't butcher it too much getting it out during the strip

Image

Headlining!!! Nice black one, this is half finished as i need some nice sticky sh!te that barry has at work to stick it all nice.

So thats the end of play today, took bloody hours as per and not much of a post but i'm pleased with the progress! As this opens alot of doors for fitting other parts up now.

I've never seen a "proper" diamond car, they are normally hazy swirly messes that just look grey.

Got to be very careful washing it mate, swirls are a nightmare on dark cars.
