OB this was the finish from the gun, just a polish with a mop. Adam is my fav painter!

Sepnt a few hours mincing on it, fitting the rather large number of clips,grommets etc. I'm getting a head ache remembering where i've stored stuff now. It's all in the garage,house and shed somewhere. I'll get some pics once i've made some notable progress for the camera anyhow

its funny how carried away you get when it comes to refitting stuff, you`ll forget all about photo`s until you run out of things to do. i reckon there will be one when the loom is in, one when the lump goes in then one when the interior is reinstated :lol:

take your time and if youre not convinced youve done something right or even forgot to fit something then do it again, its the only way

nearly laughed me cock off when i saw that photo by the way, deffo your good side :lol:

yeah i can see your point Matt! I'm not sweating as much as i thought i would be but i've not done anything too difficult yet like getting the lump back in. Thats going to be a mission either way without a ramp as from underneath its going to be the safest way by a long stretch in terms of causing no damage

Refitting is such a satisfying job. I love that part of a resto. Si, don't forget the touring over here pay when your ready. Get it looking half decent for gaydon.

i have spent 2 hours of work time almost reading this thread and it has completely blown me away. i love diamantschwarz i have one of my cars painted this colour and when the sun hits it in summer it is mind blowing it really grabs peoples attention!

it has been a great read i wish i could do this with mine, more to the point i wish i had an Alpina!

i was offered an e30 M3 in macau blue where the owner has not driven it in years just sitting in the garage. i think her is down to a well respected £6K. i am sure its a cecotto edition! i wish i had more money or spent less on other things.

i think my mate is gonna buy it, actually the guy bss325i bought the alpina from!

Yeah, if i can get hold of the guy with the M3, it is one of my Managing Directors friends. he has had the car for 8 years i think! most of which has been spent in a garage!

Nigel wants a new toy so i suggested he have a look at this.

Been at it all week in the evenings for a few hours. This is going to take ages! lol but we are on the home straight right?!

lots of new clips,grommets,nuts and bolts all coming out the play now.

It got wet today as it's going to get wet when it's washed so....well you know

door holds itself shut now, i will do the other side but i've lost a bracket which holds the door handle mechanisim (sp) in place. said part costs 74 from bmw so no major drama. Then i noticed the door latch screws are a bit sad looking so i've got some new ones. They are cheapo non galvanised ones in silver. BMW and their cost cutting

I'm loathed to use them. If anyone has 6 original shiney ones drop me a line!

Rear sunroof drains are connected up after the roof action. I've only put the bumper on for space reasons

Getting the rear bumper together and everything all lined up probably took an hour, but when everything has been apart and the no marks to say whether brackets are in the right place a took a while to get the gaps to the rear quarters as good as i can do.

Alpina long range fuel tank is in only temp. I've had to drill 2 holes in the boot floor for fixing purposes

and there needs to be another in the iiner arch for the breather pipe

I need more bravery for this! the 6mm holes got me in a cold sweat!

So thats where we are at at the moment. One trip to the main dealer already and another list of bits coming along nicely. Loom should be going back in soon when i've got a day to attack it and i've got all the other millions of clips in place. Glad i've taken a load of photos as i can't remember all of it. My memory homoness is serving me well so far though

side skirts on today

nice rail with holes all along the sills

not alot of thought went into these when alpina thought these up imo. When i came to strip these off for the paintjob these rails where held on with bloody self tappers. luckily they hadn't let the sills get destroyed by rust. They are full of waxoyl now anyway. I've replaced the self tappers with 8mm bodywork nuts the same as which hold the front wings,valence etc to the car

nice, numberplate screws they used with the black caps, so i've done the same!

finished article, very similar to m-tech 1 sport skirts. Drivers side is better than the passengers, but these are a real pain to fit on straight. When i bought the car i think the apprentice fitted them new as they were on p!ssed.

I shall get the sound deadening this week ordered from bmw so i can get the cars loom back in and really get stuck into it. Going to be a bit tricky getting the hole lot back through that small hole in the bulk head. twas similar getting it out
