You will not see that sort of power from an M42 without spending a huge amount of money.

150bhp is a realistic figure to aim for with a remap but there are no gains to be had by changing the exhaust.

I have to second this. Having spent decent money on an engine it doesn't come as easily as a chip. Most I saw from a remapped standard M42 (thats a dyno map not a chip) was 150/155 depending on the dyno and whether Jupiter had aligned with Mars. I bang this drum all the time but the M42 gives better front end balance and handling. Corners are for fast drivers, people never cease to be amazed when we take our plucky 318iS lite track car on track days.
I bang this drum all the time too. I drove the E36 M3 with the S50B32 in for nigh on a decade, loved the engine in a straight line but it NEVER went round corners as well as my mate's 328i Sport. No way would I put it in an E30 of mine, it was too heavy for the E36 let alone the E30.
Thank you
The wheels are 16x8 ET25 with 225.45.16 and I am now running 11mm spacers upfront for more wheelbase.
I'd buy the Fritz manifold in a heartbeat but the purple tag compatibility keeps me away.rix313 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 06, 2022 8:11 pmThe Fritz exhaust is VERY nice. I have fitted a couple and have one going on my car. For the money it's amazing. He is very knowledgable but even so those power claims feel a bit 'salesman' like. That said, no harm in trying and getting it on a reputable rolling road.
Shes looking good man![]()
The difference is huge mate, the car sat for a few years and it really showed, I also just replied to your fuel pump post and just bought one so thanks for that
