As promised pic of the Hella fog light with the chrome duct tape reflector. Not too shaby I think.

Right headlight still waiting for mounting plugs.

Managed to jack, bash and coheres top of valance to fit and all fits now, just had to take whole lot off again as I had forgotten to connect indicators, dough!

Right wing is on and a couple of coats of canned white, looks OK, not as new but then neither is the rest of the car. It IS a daily ride ater all and by that I mean work, down farm tracks, etc.

Now, where DID I put that bloody side trim?

Just a quick update; I have cleaned off the underside of the 318 bonnet and after a de-grease washed it down with thinners twice and then a couple of coats of primer and it all looks good to paint, showed up the front edge was a bit rough and pitted so sort that out next trip and then it's onto the white paint and insulation before setting it onto the trestle and doing the upper surface.

All the front end finished, headlight clips arrived, too bloody small and had to pop a 6mm drill down them so the ball of the adjuster fitted. I do wish these so called specialist knew their products properly, "fits E30, VW, etc" wrong. The '85-'87 E30 ones are shorter and larger holes. So anyway, all the lights are on and working, wing and trims fitted.

Seems Opel factors are no better, stripped wife's Corsa sport to fit new cam oil seal, Took new from box and wrong bloody one! So back together and reorder one for Monday delivery. IDIOTS!.

Wing molding lost, I found the 318 one which is none chrome so good ol' Brutus is sending me a 'chromie' one with my 0211 comfort seat back.

Really annoying; there is a good undertray of the correct sort in Princess Risbough but collect only for 50 quid, AGHHHH! can't get it, have the dosh !. Guess I will have to carry on with the 'so called' E30 one that doesn't have the 'wings' on it.

Oh yeah, the Suzuki AN400x ran for the first time and all the body panels are on, just a crappy carb to clean.

I need to make a couple of the tow ring extensions , (M-tech1) as I am buggered if I am paying over 120€ each for them.

These will be SOLID discs fit inside original with a solid top plate bolted trough and 12mm ring. Not the pressed disc crap for sale,

Anyone wanting one or two let me know and I'll see if it's viable to do a run.

Front wing trim arrived yesterday afternoon so all ready to finish, I think I will just stuff the bonnet on as is for now so I can get the car out of the workshop and the Eagle SS in saving money on parking.

Thanks to Carl, Brutus , 'BMW E30 Spares' for great service and keen prices and going the extra mile on posting, great guy.

Can't wait, My stepson has lent us his E34 525 TDS with all the M5 bits and interior but a lousy clutch, making gear changes horrible and notchy, so thanks Jose but I like my E30 auto better.

And so it ends, almost. Just a final top coat on the bonnet. Took one 400ml spray can to do inner ribs. Two cans per coat for upper surface so two more cans needed to get a good shine.

I am old enough, (too bloody old ) to remember when cars had no lacquer and paint so thick they wouldn't mind a stone or three and a good 'T' cut would get it up good as new, today, well, so thin over keen with a polish will take the lacquer off, let alone a bit of sun blistering it.
Image

All back together and running fine, had a nasty moment when the slow running was 2K but I realised I had fitted a new hose from rocker cover to throttle body so I had to reset all the cable and air screw setting to get it down to 900 and not stalling when engaging drive.

Bonnet is 4mm too far back from front of wing but no adjustment left, need to sort that, the bonnet and right wing are from the same car.
Image

BRUTUS, lovely guy, made my day after a few years looking at and hiding the big hole in the outer bolster, now makes the cushion look drab so needs a shampoo.
Image

Likewise the 'lost' wing trim fitted.
Skirt front section needs a screw but I keep forgetting my little drill.
Image

As I fitted a new radiator, and transmission cooler I saw the ATF was a nasty brown colour and a bit thick so cleaned out and filled with Dextron IID, as recommended, seems OK.

After seeing a YouTube video of the throttle pedal problems I thought I best to check mine.

Result; No bushes, totally gone, cable on the way pedal end, no return spring and rubber grommet soft and gooey, so ordered new bushes, spring and cable as locally not even worth asking for parts and takes just as long to order OEM but costs more.

Also new brake pedal rubber that its not had for at least 10 years.

So it will be another few weeks before 'Blanca' is ready to roll. It will give me time to finish the hood paint, 2/3 is done and ready for final rub down and polish, it's a little orange peel but thick and solid.

New earth strap fitted to bonnet/frame. saw a corner of the insulation foam started to lift so need to hit that with some heat proof glue. Also thinking of breaking with my ethics on OEM original and fitting a LED panel with a micro switch. I swapped the festoon bulb of the boot light light for LED and it is like day and night, a huge improvement, I can actually see what is in the boot now.

Did a little fibre glass on the drivers side kick panel as it had broken on the small section, not brilliant but hate to pay what is being asked (plus post) for a used one considering it's just comprised fibreboard. I would rather make a copy in fibre glass.

This is one of the simple fixes, but is such an improvement.
You'll notice it right away.

That was my second favourite easy fix.
