A little finessing last week… already had the wings, one door and the bonnet done so why not get the rest of the car done
Just the window surround to do in the next few weeks (when the new seal arrives!)
Also fitted a new blower motor as that was intermittent.
Just need to work out the issue with the temp gauge and for it to stop spitting transmission fluid out of the dipstick tube 🥴 (I put a little more than 3l in as it wasn’t happy with reverse gear and the dipstick is next to useless after you’ve topped it up! Whoever designed that needs to explain themselves!!
) and we’re good to go

Initially no, as the car wasn't fully back together, so I followed the instructions in the 'Bentley Publishers Service Manual' put enough for it to register on the dipstick and then when it was up and running ran it through the gears which is when it wasnt happy about reverse.
So then with it running I added a little more (like 50ml at a time) until it was smooth through the gears.
The dipstick still registers lower than max so I am super confused but I guess it'll find its level. Can only be a few ml out.

This might mean that the breather on the gearbox is blocked.bexwoods wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 12:16 pm

Transmission fluid issue sorted, after a clean up of the breather and a long run it’s found it’s level and stopped ‘spitting’
Couple of ‘finishing touches’ done ahead of his first show (Bicester scramble) on Sunday too….
