You're a brave man taking it to the ring after all the work you've put in to this car, but it need to be enjoyed otherwise what's the point.Simon13 wrote: Also in other news i'm going to take it to the ring on a trackday in May! Why not give me a chance to finally properly bond with it on a long road trip and use it properly after all these years and hardwork, will help me like it!
Fantastic car you've done a superb job.

Admirable Simon, and pleased you are going to use it and not keep as some ponced up garage queen. You have built so enjoy it

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
Nice work Simon, as you say they are never finished, but hopefully one day we can get some use out of them

glad to see i ain't the only one,Simon13 wrote:True but bollocks, its pay back time for my effort. Its on the drive again in a million pieces and if i wasn't a million quid into it i'd sell it but i am very stubborn!
it's the (never ending) snagging list that seems to cause the most problems.
will all be worth it in the end.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

I didn't take it to the ring in the end it all got too much so went in my e46 wagon instead - still alpina! I changed the sump gasket but its still there after i put it all back together. So i need to sum up the motivation to take the gearbox off again to change something else thats causing the leak!
Crankshaft rear seal is up or the housing cracked or something. If i could start the engine with no gearbox on it that would help me massively. I've done a load of other work along the way like stereo and alpina vent guage work which i need to update as its good stuff!
