Grassy arse guys, should be taking shape soon. I want it painted now, so i can start the refit!

Car will stay as it was looks wise. It's staying Diamond black, maybe a bit blacker though! So alpina front spoiler, boot spoiler and side skirts. Looks like a tech 1 sport in a facelift shell which i like! I'm going to Add the alpina decal kit to the sides and front spoiler. I just can't decide on gold or silver! You even buy the "alpina" boot badge in gold aswell 8) Gold is the plan, but i like the silver. The car will work with either though

Bumper mounts, i just cleaned them up, lick of paint and bought some new nuts. I've found these rear bumper mounts to be the hardest part of an E30 to remove as the nuts and threads can get so badly rusted up. But WD40 over time helped me here and they came off with no drama's much to my relief!

I think my Breyton rear valance would look good with the rest of the alpina kit but i doubt i'll do this!

engine dunno, i'll deal with it when the time comes! i can't go too mad because of the nature of the car. I'd like a few internal mods but the outside has to look stock.

oh yeah you can't buy bumper shocks new anymore Simon, so Ian Haynes told me a while back.

looks great si, its really coming together now.

That panel you bought for the rear, does it only come like that? (with the rear valance, and number plate area in one). I had assumed you could buy just the lower valance alone?

Keep up the great work

thats how they come, this panel came free with the car! I don't need the whole panel grafted in, just the lower bit as it's doggy round the battery tray

Rust is evil! Sorry not alot of pic's but what i've been upto and general rambling as is me

heres a picture of some new stickers! gay i know but it's got to be original. This is for Bazzla!

Image

those at the bottom are the strips for the boot spoiler to stop it rubbing on the paint job ala tech 1+2 sports had for all the original freaks on here. Plus one for the petrol cap to remind me to put diesel in. It's the best i could get

Theres been lots of trips to dealer lately, my local dealer are being fanatastic! For new nuts, bolts and brackets etc that are a bit rank or rusty Going back to stickers, i'm missing the colour one or diamond black. These are still available new in any colour you want bar this one :?

Even more f**king annoying is the fact i can't get one of these new
Image
Alpina tyre pressure sticker again :x E-mail from alpina themselves. RJB6 if your reading this any ideas!

I've sent my fuel filler pipe, front engine subframe and 2 front struts off to get powder coated. So pic's of these when they come back! The guy doing it could prove a very handy new contact as he says he can strip down and renew as required my sport gearbox i've got to go in and fit new clutch packs to the LSD for it aswell! He's a bmw nut as is currently supercharging a 5.0 V12 8 series engine 8O Custom valves for the engine anyone?!

Also i've got some prices today on getting some brand new C2 2.7 badges. Hold your breath and this is with a bit of discount aswell!

Front badge £76
rear £71
"ALPINA" boot badge £29 - i can get this is gold so i think it's gotta be done
Thats including VAT so not too bad 8O

I'm going to have to sit in the corner and have a good chat to myself about the prices on the C2 badges but i know i'm weak and will buy them!

If you're all wondering why it's not in the paintshop yet it's because i was in no hurry but i am if you get me so he's finishing some other jobs off first. I'm in a hurry now! I don't know why but well you get me

Si. I reckon silver too mate. I found these as a starter for 10. I know ones an e34 but it gives the general idea of gold. With the silver rims it doesn't gel as well as silver stipes IMO.

Hi Simon see everythings going fine, more than I can say for mine I have a problem  just posted a thread in the Tech section, but that's another story.I got your pm,I'm going to speak to Paul tomorrow so I'll ask about the pressure sticker and get back to you mate.Don't know if I'll make the pod Sunday as I'm well behind with back end.But it's only down the road from me so I'll see if I can get there if only for a couple of hours.Wanted to hand out flyers for the Billing next year.Just got it confirmed for the weekend in June the 7th and 8th.
Going the put the decor stripes on mine but I shall use the gold as the car is red which I think it will look better.Think yours will look better with the silver as the car is a dark colour.Talking of colour coding things done my trailing arms in alpina colours just to be different what do you think 8O

If you look closely you can see where those bushes won't fit properly.
Hopefully see ya Sunday

Food for thought, i might be coming round to the silver......it does seem to work better.

Roy you are a hero! those half shafts are dedication to the cause! It would be good to chat on sunday, i'm going to try and remove this sticker later. I'm a bit nervous, se if D6ph can help on a good copy

Just off to the dealer for some more bits! Might order those badges........deep breath!

this would look nice in gloss black with gold stripes. generally i hate gold but on this it would work, gloss black is the best of the BMW blacks. Good luck with an epic project.

Oh, silver stripes definitely, the gold stripes and silver wheels didn't work first time round, one to be left in the past.

Anyone for 20 JPS, a pair of foster grants and a pair of Lee Coopers?

Mind you barry, I bet you wouldn't say no to a 1976 genuine JPS Mk2 3 litre 'S' Capri?

Yes i would love one! Gotour, the wheels were gold, well theinner part of the spokes were. They also did them in white with gold detail but are even rarer and both had a unique gold'ish interior trim. They were also availble in 1.6 and 2.0 engine sizes. They were never badged as jps and the official name from ford was 'Midnight special'

The one above is a german market car and is a 2.3 ltr not availible in england as we used 2.0 'pintos' and 3ltr 'essex's' where as germany used 2.3 ltr and 2.8 ltr 'cologne' engines.

what a crock of sh!te. I remember my aunties 2.8 with cement bags in the boot. At least you can buy a touring E30 with the cement already installed

Anyway, what do we think of this then?
