Oh dear. Sounds like it could be something to do with the oil feed to the camshafts, quite a common problem on OHC engines...

Excuse me. Please state, why you pulled your b30. Might help us not to make the same mistake! !
Do you not wish to elaborate why? Please....
What was the fault in the build???
I am sure many would like to know..

getting some parts collected for when i put the stroker back in ,
nice new sprung paddle clutch

this next jobby should stop the oil pump failures , i've had both things that can go wrong with an oil pump actually go wrong. this is from the nut backing off and the oil pump sprocket not driving the pump and last time out with the b30 the oil pump drive shaft part just sheared off with the nut and sprocket falling into the sump pan .

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Upgraded-Oil- ... 1438.l2649
and then in my spare time i can finish off the touring

had my insurance renewal through and realised that i need to increase the value of my car as it's a 5 year old value so i asked to double the value due to rate these cars have shot up in price and after all on the logbook it's a 318is so pretty desirable .
anyway my insurance value was doubled and my premium went up 97 pence

What did your engine do when the oil pump failed?

put the oil pressure light on lolJesus325iTouring wrote:What did your engine do when the oil pump failed?
well the oil chain was making a racket and i notice the oil light come on straight away so shut it down , i've had the cam tray covers off and no damage ..... sending the b30 down to Dan soon to strip it and inspect , rebuild replace where necessary no corners cut , with the oil pump upgrade i might not need to pull the engine out almost every spring

Just curious with regards my P38, my light came on too, and had serious lack of power, though I had to drive about 3rd of mile to get it off the road.

I thought it was standard to upgrade the oil pumps. Shame you had to find out the hard waymagpie wrote:put the oil pressure light on lolJesus325iTouring wrote:What did your engine do when the oil pump failed?.
